Petra hides everything. Three doors run the full 180 cm and there is no open shelf anywhere, so a wall of black boxes and coiled leads simply stops being part of the room. The circular cane panel set into each door is what makes that possible without the front turning into a blank run of timber - an open weave lets an infrared remote through where a solid door would not.

Solid sheesham in a honey finish, close enough in tone to the natural cane that the circles read as part of the door rather than as inserts stuck onto it. At 60 cm tall it sits low enough to put a screen at seated eye level.

Dust the wood with a soft, dry cloth, and use a soft brush on the cane circles rather than a cloth, which catches on the weave. Wipe spills promptly. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight - cane lightens faster than sheesham, and on this design the two sit directly against each other. Avoid excessive moisture, and do not use harsh chemical or abrasive cleaners.

How wide is the Petra?

180 cm across and 60 cm tall, both stated by the maker. The depth is the one we are still confirming: the maker publishes 40 cm but labels it as width, which cannot be right on a cabinet 180 cm long. Around 40 cm is almost certainly the depth, and we will confirm it in writing before we list it as a measurement.

Will the remote work through the cane?

That is the usual reason people choose cane on a media cabinet - an infrared signal passes through an open weave where it will not pass through a solid door. We have not tested it with a specific device, so if you rely on a particular box, tell us which one and we will check before you order.

Is any of the storage open?

No. All three compartments sit behind doors, which is what keeps the front of this one calm. If you want a visible shelf for a console or a soundbar, this is not the cabinet for it.

What does the honey finish look like?

A warm mid-tone that leaves the sheesham grain readable rather than covering it, close in colour to the natural cane so the door inserts sit into the front rather than standing out from it. It is the only finish offered.

How do I look after the cane?

Dust it with a soft brush rather than a cloth, which catches on the weave, and keep it dry. Cane is a natural fibre: it lightens in strong sunlight and can dry out in very low humidity, so treat it the way you would the wood around it.
