The corners are the whole design. Anders takes a rectangular top and curves the ends away, which removes the hard points a dining table normally puts at hip height in a room people walk around - without going all the way to an oval and losing the usable straight edges.

Tapered legs and a slim apron keep the mid-century line. It comes in a compact 119 cm four-seater and a full 152 cm six-seater, both 76 cm high, and in four teak finishes that all cost the same within a size - so the choice is about the room, not the budget.

Use mats under anything hot or wet and wipe spills as they happen - a dining top takes more daily punishment than any other surface in a house. Dust with a soft, dry cloth along the grain. Which size should I choose?

The 4-seater is 119 cm long by 70 deep - a compact table for a kitchen end or a small dining room. The 6-seater is 152 by 91, which is a proper dining table and needs a room that can give it clearance on all sides. Both stand 76 cm high.

Do the darker finishes cost more?

No. Price varies by size only - all four finishes cost the same within a size. Medium and Dark keep the teak grain warm and visible; Black and White Washed sit further from the natural colour, with White Washed showing the grain through a pale wash rather than covering it.

What does the maker mean by seasoned old teak?

That is the maker's own term for the timber, and we are repeating it as theirs. Seasoning refers to how long wood has been dried before it is worked, which is what makes a large top less prone to movement. We have not been given a source, an age or a certification for the timber, so we are not claiming one.

Is there an eight-seater?

The maker lists one at 183 cm but it is not currently available to order, so we have not put it on this page as something you can buy. One photograph in the gallery does show the larger size. If you need eight seats, ask us and we will check whether it can be sourced.

How do I look after a solid teak top?
