The legs are what you notice. Each one is turned on a lathe into a run of balls and spindles rather than tapered or squared off, which gives a plain rectangular teak top something to stand on that is genuinely worth looking at.

It is a full six-seat table at 183 cm, and it sits a little lower than most - 74 cm rather than the usual 76 - which is worth measuring your chairs against. Care & Maintenance

Use mats under anything hot or wet and wipe spills as they happen. Dust the top with a soft, dry cloth along the grain, and work into the turned sections of the legs, where dust settles in the hollows between the balls. Keep the table out of a strong window. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners - particularly on a painted leg, where they will lift the colour.

The photographs show teal legs. Can I order that?

We do not know yet, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Every photograph shows a natural teak top with deep teal-green painted legs, and the maker's specification sheet lists the colour as natural and teal. But the three finishes you can actually select are Dark Teak, Black Teak and White Washed Teak - none of which is that combination.

So the gallery may be showing a version that is not currently orderable. We are confirming it with the maker. Please ask us before you order if the teal is why you want this table.

Will my chairs fit under it?

Check before you buy. At 29 inches this table sits about an inch lower than the 30 inches most dining tables use, which is usually fine but can be tight with a tall-armed chair. Measure from your floor to the top of the chair arm and allow clearance under the apron.

How big is it?

183 cm long by 91 deep and 74 high - about 72 by 36 by 29 inches. It is a full six-seat table and needs clear space on all sides for chairs to pull out.

Is there an eight-seater?

The maker's specification block lists one at 213 cm, but it is not offered in the order picker, so we have not listed it as something you can buy. If you need eight seats, ask us and we will check whether it can be sourced.

What does the maker mean by seasoned old teak?

That is their own term and we are repeating it as theirs. Seasoning refers to how long timber has been dried before it is worked, which is what makes a large top less prone to movement. We have not been given an age, a source or a certification, so we are not claiming one.
